It may be almost summer…but your hair doesn’t need to know that! Summer has a tradition, and that tradition is women hiding their hair in tight pony tails or underneath gigantic floppy hats. Why? Not because it’s a fashion statement, but because summer isn’t friends with hair…they are more like your typical case of frenemies. Remember that episode of friends?

The Hilton Toronto/Markham Celebrates 25 years of Hospitality

Last night, on May 21st, the Hilton Toronto/Markham Conference Center and Spa hosted a celebration to remember, in honour of its’ 25th Anniversary. After a lot of hard work by the staff of the Hilton Markham, a spectacular event was created to celebrate the milestone, and show its appreciation to those staff members, partners, guests, and family/friends who have made the Hilton Markham what it is today.

With grand tours taking place across the entire hotel, guests were able to see everything the hotel has to offer, and after a recent $15 million renovation, there was quite a bit to see. The tour began in the lobby with 6 Brazilian dancers, a DJ, painter, and delicious food and beverages. Guests were then taken to a VIP luxury suite which had a musician and performance artist to entertain everyone passing by. Next, guests were accompanied by a spoken word artist on their way to see the new Extended Stay Suites and were treated with yet again, more delicious food and beverages. Guests were given the opportunity to explore the rooms as well as continue the entertainment with even more performance artists. The next stop on the tour was eforea spa, which invited guests in to experience the tranquil journey the spa strives to deliver every day. With a beautiful harpist, and modern dancer, guests explored the treatment rooms and were given the opportunity to try the elusive “spa water”! They were then taken to eforea’s hair salon where there was another talented performance artist, informing everyone on all the wonderful services at the spa, as well as provide guests with a delicious (and edible) chocolate lipstick. Last but not least, the tour ventured to Club Markham where there was a steel drum musician, self-defense demo and complimentary smoothies.

Once the tours were complete, guests were invited to the Parisian-themed cocktail reception where they had the option to get their photo taken as well as enjoy, of course, more delicious treats and drinks. As the ballroom doors opened, there were a few thought-felt speeches including Markham’s Mayor Frank Scarpitti and were concluded with gracious and inspiring words from Herman Grad. The rest of the evening included a live musical performance, acrobats, giveaways, and more delicious food that was enjoyed by many!

It truly was a night to remember.
