Relaxation Techniques for Early Childhood Educators

This year marks the 14th annual Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day on October 29th. In honour of this celebration, we are going to share our Top Three Solutions for relieving stress and maintaining a positive and healthy lifestyle.

  1. homeUnwind at home
It’s easy to take the stress of work home with you, and spend your evenings planning the next day, or dwelling on today’s conflicts. However, once you are home, it is imperative you take advantage of these moments of quiet and relaxation. After being surrounded by people, noises, and constant messes, make sure you take the time to enjoy peace and quiet at home. Take a long bath, read a book, or watch your favourite show – just make sure you make time for ‘me-time’.
  2. Maintain a Healthy and Active Lifestylegym
In order to keep up with those little munchkins, you must have the endurance and energy to do so. With a busy work life, it is understandably hard to find time to get to the gym, especially if you have children of your own to care for. Thirty minutes of exercise per day as well as eating a nutritious and balanced diet, should do the trick to maintain strong muscles, and high energy levels – just enough to keep up the daily marathon of childcare!
  3. 10414478_295407864001434_7238266546719381464_nSupport One Another
No one understands the stresses of your daily life better than a fellow Early Childhood Educator. This is why it is imperative to work together and offer your support. Assisting each other in lesson plans, activities, or simply discussing the day’s trials and tribulations, can ease the mind and make the day run much smoother. Try arranging an out-of-work get-together for you and some other educators and give yourselves the chance to unwind and relax outside of the work environment.

So don’t forget to show your support on Wednesday October 29th to all those hard working Child Care Workers and Early Childhood Educators – because a little support and appreciation can go a long way!

Lend a Hand to Breast Cancer

October has finally arrived, which means it’s time for beautiful fall leaves, apple picking, pumpkin carving, and of course, breast cancer awareness. October is the official Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is a national campaign looking to shed light on this disease in hopes to show support to current and past victims as well as educate society on preventative measures.

helping women nowMany people choose to show their support through making donations to various charities and support centers, wearing the pink breast cancer ribbon, or simply talking and learning about the disease.

This year, join the Canadian Cancer Society in their fight against breast cancer and take part in their program, maniCURES! Spas and salons across Ontario are promoting pink manicures and pedicures to file and buff away the misconceptions about breast cancer!
